Other Assessments

Your practitioners will specialise in different areas, have a variety of skillsets as well as sampling and measuring equipment. Below are the some of the areas of experience and training Building Biologists have engaged in. Please enquire with a practitioner in your area to see what they offer and how they can help you:

Drinking Water Quality

Did you know that the vast majority of water bottles used in offices could contain BPA – a hormone disrupting chemical known to increase the risk of breast and testicular cancer?

Beside the potential health benefits, appropriate water filters are more cost effective than bottled water. Whether you drink tap, tank or bottled water, a Building Biologist can provide accurate advice as to the most appropriate water filter for your situation. An effective water filter can save you money and reduce staff exposure to known toxins such as chlorine, trihalomethanes, pesticides, fluoride, lead and copper.

Indoor Air Quality

Are you concerned about the air quality in your home or workplace? Is the heating or air conditioning system affecting the air quality and do you suffer from asthma and allergies? What about chemicals from the photocopier at work or other chemicals like cleaning products?

A Building Biologist can test for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), various gases, dust and other particulates, as well as microbes such as mould and bacteria. They can also provide advice regarding any problems that have been detected.

Building Design

From using healthy building materials to healthy building design, and everything in between - a Building Biologist can help make those tricky decisions that need to be made, easier. Building Biologists will keep your health and the health of your building a priority as well as being mindful of our environmental impact.
