No Tox Rox ~ Jo Lia

Jo Lia is a certified Building Biologist and founder of Notoxrox, with over a decade of experience helping clients create healthier indoor environments. Apart from her formal training with the Australian College of Environmental Studies (ACES), she holds IICRC qualifications in Applied Microbial Remediation (AMRT) and Water Damage Restoration (WRT). Jo specializes in mould and moisture assessments, electromagnetic field (EMF) testing, indoor air quality (including VOCs and formaldehyde), and post-fire damage assessments.

Her work blends scientific testing with practical, prevention-focused solutions. Jo collaborates with natural health practitioners, fertility specialists, and remediation companies to support client wellbeing and long-term health. She also works with architects and builders to ensure healthy design outcomes in new and existing homes. She has helped many families dealing with lead poisoning identify the source of exposure and guide them through appropriate removal strategies.

Jo works closely with a natural fertility clinic to help couples create low-tox living environments that support reproductive health and hormonal balance. She has been featured in health publications, wellness podcasts, and appeared on Channel Ten’s Healthy Homes program, sharing her expertise on how homes can impact health.

Jo regularly speaks at sustainability and architectural events on the intersection of building design and occupant health. Based in Sydney, she services the metro area and offers remote consults for rural and interstate clients.
