Birgit is an experienced building biologist and IEP (Indoor Environmental Professional) She has over 10 years’ experience in finding solutions for poor indoor air quality. Her own journey with chronic fatigue and chemical sensitivities has led her to help clients create healthy indoor environments. Birgit specialises in mould and air quality investigations and is adept at finding solutions to ensure a healthy environment is achieved.
Training and Industry Experience
Birgit was introduced to Sick Building Syndrome through the Australian College of Environmental Studies and has since completed qualifications as a Building biologist in Germany and continued studies with the ACES. Further advanced training includes air quality testing (ACES and IBN), IICRC WRT, Certification as Mould Testing Technician, Methamphetamine Testing and Decontamination Methods, Asbestos Assessment associated with removal, Dr. Gupta’s Mould Illness Made Simple and currently Cert IV in WHS.
Birgit started her own business in 2011 and has worked in the field of Building Biology since. Working in the restoration industry since 2016 led to experience as supervisor, team leader and project manager on small, medium and large mould remediation projects, water damage and fire restoration projects. Her work experience includes hospital and Government buildings for both clinical cleans and restoration projects. Work experience includes development of detailed Scope of Works for mould and fire restoration projects for residential and commercial projects, content remediation and post remediation verification (PRV) assessments as independent third-party consultant. Birgit has also been involved as consultant on new builds for some of her mould sensitive clients.
